Frequently Asked Questions

What areas do you service?

I serve anywhere in the GTA, however I mostly work in Oakville, Burlington, Mississauga, and Toronto.

I also help clients purchase properties - whether primary or secondary - in Muskoka Lakes, Kawartha Lakes, and in the Georgian Bay areas.

I want to buy a cottage, but I have no idea where to start. Do you have any tips?

There are many things to consider when purchasing a cottage and I would love to help! Once you have decided on a general area, then it is time to consider the following:

  • Is the water municipal or is it from a well?

  • Has the water been tested for quality?

  • What is the septic system age and size?

  • Is there a shore road allowance?

  • Are there any easements or right-of-ways on the property?

  • What activities are allowed on the lake?

  • If you are thinking of building or renovating (main building or boathouse), what is allowed by the municipality?

  • Is the cottage landlocked, on an island, or is there road access?

  • What is the exposure of the lot? In other words, which way does the lot face. This is important if you’d like to have sunset views every night.

I am interested in purchasing an equestrian property, however I need some guidance. Can you help?

As a life-long competitive equestrian, it would be my pleasure to assist you.

The most important thing when finding a realtor to help you buy or sell a horse farm is to make sure they have specific knowledge about what it takes to care for horses. These properties require a specific field of knowledge, including horse health care, pasture management, safety, and liability laws.

There are many questions to consider when looking at equestrian properties, including but not limited to:

  • Will the farm be for private use or will you have boarders?

  • What are comparable board rates in the area?

  • What are the different types of structures on the property and how are they used?

  • Is there an area to keep tack?

  • What is the footing in the riding areas made of, and what type of maintenance is required?

  • What type of fencing is there and what condition is it in?

  • What is the feed room like and is it secure?

  • Are there fields and forests to go hacking?

  • Is there ample parking and somewhere to store farm equipment and trailers?

I am looking in a specific neighbourhood, and I want to know what school my children will go to. Is there a way to check this?

Yes! You can check which school your children will be attending in a specific neighbourhood. Each school board has a way to check the schools in a certain neighbourhood based on home address. I would be happy to assist with this as part of your research.
